Robert Echols, intoxicated, caused a July 11 crash that killed Kiara Coello; he was charged and jailed.
Robert Echols, 21, of Syracuse, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter, and aggravated DWI in connection with a July 11 rollover crash on State Route 31 in Madison County that killed 22-year-old Kiara Coello of Rochester.
Echols, who was intoxicated, lost control of his Jeep, which struck an embankment and rolled, ejecting all three occupants.
Coello died at the scene; Echols and passenger Secret Davis were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Echols was arrested on December 11, arraigned in Madison County Court, and held on $5,000 cash bail.
The investigation included toxicology testing and search warrants.
