Garrett Stringer-Smith, a 32-year-old Preble County band teacher, was sentenced to 13 years in prison and designated a Tier III sex offender after pleading guilty to 10 counts of sexual battery involving a 17-year-old student.
The abuse, which began in 2024 and continued into early 2025, included multiple incidents on school grounds and at his home.
The student reported the relationship in February 2025, leading to his arrest and resignation from Twin Valley High School.
He must register his address every 90 days for life and serve five years on post-release control.
