A 25-year-old man, Amarion Prewitt, has been charged with first-degree murder after a street race in West Memphis, Arkansas, ended in a fatal crash on December 11, 2025.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. near East Broadway and Ingram Boulevard when two vehicles were pursued by deputies from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office and West Memphis Police.
One vehicle lost control, flipped, and struck an unhoused woman, who died.
Prewitt was arrested at the scene and faces murder and fleeing charges; the second driver was released.
Authorities cleared the scene by early Friday morning, and the woman’s identity remains undisclosed.
