First tests are expected in the next financial year, with production to follow via a bidding process.
The Army is also expanding its Pinaka regiments through contracts for area denial munitions and software upgrades.
The system, already exported to Armenia and attracting interest from European nations including France, is seen as a key indigenous defense success.
