Cooper Aircraft now offers a new engine mount for Rotax engines across its Sonex line, enabling greater performance and efficiency.
Cooper Aircraft has launched a new engine mount enabling naturally aspirated Rotax engines—912UL, 912ULS, 912iS, 914UL, 915iS, and 916iS—to be used across its Sonex aircraft lineup. The mount, priced $2,700 less shipping, includes cooling parts, fiberglass components, and fittings but excludes fuel and wiring systems. An optional Toucan exhaust is available. Rotax engines offer 80 to 160 horsepower, up to 23,000-foot service ceilings, and 2,000-hour TBOs (1,200 for the 915iS), all delivered broken in with warranty. Testing confirmed strong performance and stability. The move marks a shift from previous reliance on Aeroconversion and Jabiru engines. Turbocharged Rotax installations are under development but not yet available. Orders are being processed, with quotes and lead times available through Sonex.
