CBI opposes Rabri Devi’s bid to shift four cases, calling it an attempt to delay justice and undermine the court.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has opposed former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s request to transfer four criminal cases against her and family members from Special Judge Vishal Gogne’s court, calling the move a bid to undermine judicial independence and delay the trial.
CBI counsel DP Singh argued the plea constitutes "forum-shopping" and an attempt to discredit the judge, noting the court has followed proper legal procedure, including routine clarifications in the IRCTC scam and land-for-jobs cases.
The CBI rejected claims of bias or election-related delays, stating the trial’s progress reflects case complexity, not judicial misconduct.
The matter is set for further hearing on December 15, 2025, before Principal District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Bhatt.
