The Avani Mooloolaba hotel, opening April 2026 on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, is a 180-room, 12-level property developed by local firm KPAT and operated by Minor Hotels.
Built on a former car park, it aims to ease a projected shortage of 30,000 to 40,000 hotel rooms in south-east Queensland ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
The hotel features ocean views, a rooftop pool and bar, fitness center, spa, and locally inspired design.
Its opening coincides with major regional upgrades, including a $170 million airport expansion and Mooloolaba foreshore revitalization, part of broader preparations for increased tourism and Olympic visitors.
