The stay came in response to a Special Leave Petition by the Kerala Waqf Samrakshana Vedi, which argued the High Court overstepped by reviewing the Waqf deed, a matter for the Waqf Tribunal. The court emphasized the need for careful legal review, noting the dispute’s complexity and ongoing tribunal proceedings. The case remains pending before the Supreme Court.
