A South Dakota student was convicted of third-degree rape and non-consensual photography after an incident at a fraternity event in November 2024.
A 22-year-old University of South Dakota student from Parkston, Quinn Scott Bormann, was convicted by a Yankton County jury of third-degree rape and taking photos without consent following an incident at a fraternity event on November 1, 2024.
The charges stem from an alleged assault where the victim, reportedly intoxicated and unable to consent, was photographed without her knowledge and the images were shared.
Bormann faces up to 25 years in prison for the rape charge and up to one year for the photo-taking charge.
Sentencing is set for March 26, 2026.
The case was investigated by state and local law enforcement and prosecuted by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
