Peel Waters seeks approval to build 2,600 homes and a park on Manchester’s Pomona Island, part of a larger sustainable redevelopment.
Peel Waters has submitted a planning application to redevelop Pomona Island, a 25-acre brownfield site in Manchester, into a new waterfront neighborhood with about 2,600 homes, including affordable, build-to-rent, and market options, along with a hotel, retail, offices, and a five-acre public park.
The project, part of the Manchester Waters masterplan, aims to create sustainable, mixed-use community spaces with improved connectivity to the city center and surrounding areas.
Over half the site will be green space, and the development follows strong community support from a public consultation.
Nearly 600 homes have already been delivered, with 500 more set to start in 2026.
The proposal is under review by Trafford Council.
