Nearly 600 people attended Nebraska town halls supporting NioCorp’s Elk Creek critical minerals project, backed by federal and state leaders for national security and job creation.
On December 5, 2025, nearly 600 Nebraskans, officials, and investors attended two town halls in support of NioCorp’s Elk Creek Critical Minerals Project, a proposed mine and processing facility in southeast Nebraska.
Federal and state leaders, including Governor Jim Pillen and Senators Deb Fischer and Pete Ricketts, praised the project for strengthening national security, reducing reliance on foreign critical minerals, and creating jobs.
EXIM President John Jovanovic said the project aligns with efforts to bolster U.S. industrial resilience.
NioCorp CEO Mark A. Smith highlighted 2025 as a breakthrough year and projected key financing and construction preparations in 2026.
