On December 9, 2025, India’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project successfully launched a 130-meter steel bridge span over National Highway-64 and a railway line near Bharuch, Gujarat.
The 2,780-ton bridge, fabricated in Bhuj, was pushed into place using two 250-ton jacks in 12 hours with minimal disruption.
The structure, designed for a 100-year lifespan, features high-strength bolts, protective coating, and metallic bearings.
The project remains on schedule, with Prime Minister Modi recently urging documentation of lessons learned for future rail development.
