Former Labour Minister Chris Ngige charged with fraud over N2.14bn contracts linked to his associates.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed eight charges against former Labour Minister Chris Ngige over alleged contract fraud involving about N2.14 billion during his tenure overseeing the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund from 2015 to 2023. He is accused of awarding contracts to companies linked to him or his associates, including Cezimo Nigeria Limited and others, totaling hundreds of millions of naira. The EFCC alleges violations of Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, and Ngige is scheduled to be arraigned at the FCT High Court in Abuja on December 11, 2025.
