Chongqing's NEV exports rose 13.6% in 2025, driven by strong electric vehicle growth and improved supply chains.
Chongqing, a major inland Chinese city, saw its new energy vehicle exports rise 13.6% year-on-year to 40.22 billion yuan ($5.70 billion) in the first ten months of 2025, with electric vehicle exports surging 72.1% to 11.65 billion yuan ($1.65 billion).
The growth reflects improvements in local manufacturing, supply chains, and export logistics, as Chongqing strengthens its role as a key hub for NEV exports, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell models, shipping vehicles via trains and cargo vessels to global markets.
