Carl Rinsch convicted for diverting $11M from Netflix’s "White Horse" for luxury spending and losses.
Hollywood director Carl Rinsch was convicted on all counts of wire fraud and money laundering for allegedly diverting $11 million from Netflix intended for the unfinished sci-fi series "White Horse."
Prosecutors said he used the funds for luxury purchases, including multiple high-end vehicles, watches, clothing, and nearly $1 million on mattresses and bedding, as well as paying off $1.8 million in credit card debt and losing about half in speculative investments.
Rinsch, known for directing "47 Ronin," faces sentencing in April.
Netflix declined to comment.
