Adam Smith banned 4 years and fined €800 for speeding and no insurance, with 11 prior convictions.
Adam Smith, 21, of Castledermot, was banned from driving for four years and fined €800 after pleading guilty to speeding and driving without insurance in Graiguecullen, County Laois.
The court heard he was observed speeding on 25 February and failed to provide insurance at a stop on Kennedy Avenue.
Smith, who has 11 prior convictions including multiple traffic offences, was not present at the 26 November hearing.
Judge Geraldine Carthy cited his extensive record and imposed the ban and fines, noting his absence prevented a fixed recognisance.
