Sir Roger Daltrey, 81, was knighted by the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on December 10, 2025, for his services to music and charity, particularly his decades-long work with the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The honor, part of the King’s Birthday Honours, marks a second royal recognition, following his 2004 CBE.
Daltrey, who stepped down as curator of the charity’s Royal Albert Hall concerts after 24 years, praised the event’s legacy in raising over £34 million and establishing 28 NHS cancer units.
He accepted the knighthood on behalf of the charity’s staff, volunteers, and patients.
Robert Smith of The Cure will lead the 2026 concerts, with tickets going on sale December 12.
