Nash Cobb, a 37-year-old man from Karuah with a history of drug addiction and violent crime, has been sentenced to up to three and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple break-ins and thefts in early 2024.
The crimes included smash-and-grab attacks on service stations in Williamtown and Salt Ash, a home burglary in Corlette where a Ford Ranger Raptor ute was stolen, and an ATM heist in Tea Gardens where the machine was ripped from the ground and damaged.
The stolen ATM, valued at nearly $9,000 and containing about $5,000, was recovered from Limeburners Creek, and the ute was found without tires in Wallaroo National Park.
Police launched Strike Force Weemala, releasing CCTV footage in June, leading to Cobb’s arrest in July.
He has a prior record of armed robberies and police pursuits, and judges have repeatedly warned him about his criminal behavior.
He will be eligible for parole in April 2027 after serving at least two years.
