Liberia’s port workers end 10-year dispute with new deal including 10% raise and benefits.
The National Port Authority of Liberia has signed a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Dock Workers Union and Liberia Labour Congress, ending a decade-long dispute.
The deal includes a 10% salary increase, a $50 non-taxable food allowance, life and medical insurance, and a 24-month death benefit.
Promotions and raises will now be based on performance and budget approval.
The agreement, aligned with the Decent Work Act and the government’s RESET Agenda, marks a major step in modernizing labor relations, though workers and advocates stress that effective implementation will determine its long-term impact.
