Indian VC firm Transition VC closes $77M fund to boost clean energy startups in India and the Global South.
Transition VC, an Indian venture capital firm focused on energy transition startups, has closed its first fund at ₹700 crore ($77 million), exceeding its initial ₹400 crore target.
Backed by institutional investors, corporates, and family offices, the fund has invested in 17 climate-tech startups, including CIMware, Comminent, and Hydgen, with over half its capital deployed.
The firm, which targets engineering-driven deep tech companies, plans to expand its portfolio to 25 startups and is already securing early commitments for its second fund, aiming to scale clean energy innovation across India and the Global South.
