CF Montreal has acquired Icelandic defender Dagur Dan Thorhallsson from Orlando City in a transfer deal announced on Wednesday.
In exchange, Orlando received $500,000 in general allocation money, with up to $125,000 in additional conditional compensation and a sell-on fee.
The 25-year-old made 92 MLS appearances for Orlando from 2023 to 2025, scoring seven goals and recording four assists, including a career-high three goals in 31 appearances during the 2025 season.
Thorhallsson signed a contract with Montreal that extends through the 2027-28 season, with an option for 2028-29.
Montreal praised his versatility and attacking ability, citing a fit with head coach Marco Donadel’s system.
Orlando general manager Ricardo Moreira expressed gratitude for Thorhallsson’s contributions and leadership, wishing him well in his next chapter.
