Yorkshire Water lifts hosepipe ban for 2.3M after rain and conservation raised reservoirs to 91.6%.
Yorkshire Water is lifting its hosepipe ban for 2.3 million households as reservoir levels rose to 91.6% following heavy November rainfall and conservation efforts. The restrictions, imposed in July 2025 due to the UK’s driest spring in over a century and a record-hot summer, helped save 3.1 billion liters of water. The company credits customer cooperation, leak repairs, and water transfers for preventing levels from dropping below 17.6%. While much of England has recovered, parts of Sussex remain in drought. Yorkshire Water urges continued conservation and plans a £38 million investment over five years to reduce leaks and expand supplies.
