Sheriff Bobby Guidroz blamed construction debris and structural weaknesses for the breach, criticizing parish leadership over funding and repairs, while Parish President Jessie Bellard disputed claims of decay, citing staffing and training issues instead.
Bellard pledged to hire a corrections specialist and fund improvements if needed.
The investigation continues, with a reward offered for Eli’s capture.
