The Sipekne’katik First Nation in Nova Scotia has banned Premier Tim Houston and two cabinet ministers, Scott Armstrong and Leah Martin, from its reserve lands, calling them "undesirables" in a move citing ongoing disputes over Mi’kmaw rights. The ban, effective immediately, carries a $50,000 fine for violations and follows provincial efforts to enforce cannabis laws on reserve land, which the band says infringes on treaty rights. Chief Michelle Glasgow accused the government of undermining Indigenous sovereignty and failing to consult on key issues, while the premier’s office acknowledged safety concerns but offered no further comment.
