Silvester Namiwa, executive director of CDEDI, was named Runner-Up Human Rights Defender of the Year at a Mzuzu ceremony marking Human Rights Day, honored for his advocacy on governance, transparency, and accountability.
The event, presided over by Second Vice President Enock Kanzingeni-Chihana, also recognized Maggie Kathewera Banda as the top recipient for her work advancing women’s and marginalized communities’ rights.
