The Salvation Army will break ground on a new Center of Hope campus in Fort Myers on December 16, 2025, at the corner of Central Avenue and Willard Street.
The five-year, multi-phase project, spanning four city blocks, aims to address rising community needs amid a projected 20% population increase by 2030.
Phase 1 includes three buildings: Supportive Housing Solutions for emergency and transitional shelter, the Community Connector as a hurricane-rated public safety shelter and meal facility for up to 150 people, and Life Recovery offering addiction and mental health services and reentry programs.
The initiative supports long-term community resilience and marks the organization’s 75th year of service in the area.
