A Nebraska man won’t be charged in a gas station shooting after prosecutors found evidence supporting self-defense.
A 23-year-old Lincoln man, Emanuel Greenwalt-Claypool, will not face criminal charges in the December 4, 2025, shooting of his brother, Jarell Wheeler, and a bystander at a Casey’s gas station.
The Lancaster County Attorney’s Office found sufficient evidence to support a self-defense claim, citing that Greenwalt-Claypool was not the initial aggressor and reasonably believed deadly force was necessary to prevent death or serious harm.
Surveillance footage, witness accounts, and an autopsy were reviewed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities continue to seek information from the public.
