Honduran MS-13 leader "Fantasma" arrested in Nebraska on immigration charges linked to 2022 Honduras killings.
Gerson Emir Cuadra Soto, a 33-year-old Honduran national and alleged MS-13 leader known as "Fantasma," was arrested in Grand Island, Nebraska, on December 8, 2025, on federal immigration charges.
Authorities say he led an MS-13 kill squad linked to a 2022 quadruple homicide in Honduras, including the killing of Said Lobo Bonilla, son of former Honduran President Porfirio Lobo Sosa.
Previously imprisoned in Honduras on homicide charges, he allegedly bribed his way out of jail, entered the U.S. illegally via Texas, and obtained a California driver’s license using his real identity.
Federal agents arrested him without incident as part of Operation Take Back America, a Justice Department effort targeting violent criminals who entered the country illegally.
The charges are based on a federal complaint, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
