Hnry, a New Zealand fintech, raised $30M to expand in Australia and the UK, serving over 420,000 freelancers with digital accounting tools.
Hnry, a New Zealand-based fintech founded in 2017, has raised $30 million in a Series C round led by Movac’s Growth Fund, bringing its total funding to nearly $100 million.
The investment will accelerate expansion in Australia and the UK, where the company has seen rapid growth, including a sevenfold increase in Australia since 2020 and faster UK growth than its Australasian markets.
Hnry, which serves over 420,000 freelancers and sole traders, offers a digital accounting platform for invoicing, expenses, tax filings, and on-demand support.
The company, now employing over 150 people with most based in Wellington, plans to deepen product innovation, including a new debit card service to help users claim unclaimed business expenses.
It also recently topped up accounts for 500 customers affected by a government budget cut.
Hnry has been recognized as a Deloitte Fast 50 winner for three consecutive years and won an INFINZ Innovation Award in 2024.
Movac’s Jason Graham will join its board.
