Chattanooga builds temporary skate park in St. Elmo for free public use during permanent park’s renovation.

Chattanooga is building a temporary pop-up skate park in St. Elmo near Cassette Skate Shop, with a $1 lease and free public access, to serve skaters during the 25-year-old permanent park’s $4.4 million renovation. The city council approved a $94,000 allocation for construction and a six-month initial lease, extendable twice for $1 each. The new permanent facility is expected to open in fall 2026.
