A 12-year-old Staffie-cross named Captain, who spent over 1,100 days in a Glasgow rescue kennel, has found a forever home with Tom Gallacher from Wishaw.
Adopted in April 2025 after being transferred from a Northern Ireland council pound through Dogs Trust Glasgow’s Chance of a Lifetime scheme, Captain was previously only briefly considered by one family.
Tom, who had vowed not to adopt after losing his dog in 2021, was drawn to Captain after moving to a home with a large garden.
Now thriving in his new life, Captain enjoys treats, affection, and a growing TikTok following, bringing joy to his owner and highlighting the rewards of adopting older rescue dogs.
