A Ukrainian drone attack damaged a key buoy at Kazakhstan’s Novorossiysk terminal, halting most oil exports and boosting global oil prices.
Kazakhstan’s Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) will not restore full oil exports before December 11 after a Ukrainian drone attack damaged a key floating buoy at its Novorossiysk terminal on November 29.
The incident disrupted operations at the terminal, which handles 80% of Kazakhstan’s oil exports, with only one buoy operational and another delayed due to weather and repair challenges.
While some oil is being rerouted via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, limited alternatives remain.
The disruption has contributed to a rise in global oil prices.
