The UK Aids Memorial Quilt, honoring over 384 people who died from HIV and AIDS, will be displayed in Glasgow from September 12 to 27, 2026, marking its first appearance in Scotland.
Organized by activist Ally Van Tillo, inspired by the 1985 U.S. quilt project, the exhibition at Tramway will feature name readings, archival materials, and a screening of the documentary *There is a Light that Never Goes Out*.
The quilt, previously shown at London’s Tate Modern in 2025 to nearly 70,000 visitors, serves as a memorial and act of resistance against stigma.
A smaller display continues in Edinburgh until March 2026.
Admission to the Glasgow event is free.
