The System Shock remake, originally released in 2023, will launch on December 18, 2025, for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, marking its first appearance on Nintendo platforms. Developed by Nightdive Studios and powered by Unreal Engine 4 for stability, the ports deliver smooth performance with up to 1440p and 60fps on the Switch 2 when docked, and 1080p at 60fps handheld. The game features high-definition visuals, updated controls, improved interface, dynamic lighting, and community-driven additions like Joy-Con 2 mouse support and gyro aiming. It preserves the original's immersive gameplay, atmospheric sci-fi setting, and SHODAN’s voice by Terri Brosius.
