South San Francisco police shot a man in his 20s early December 8, 2025, after he allegedly charged officers with a knife despite repeated commands to stop, following a 911 call reporting he was possibly under the influence and making suicidal statements. Officers attempted de-escalation and used a Taser, which failed, before firing their weapons when the man advanced.
