A 1952 Austin A125 Sheerline ambulance, once used in Bathurst and one of fewer than 100 imported to Australia, has been donated to Vivability by the Morgan family.
The vehicle, the only known survivor with original 1952 bodywork, is in poor condition and will be restored as part of a project to redevelop the former Bathurst Ambulance Station into a community space.
A second donated vehicle will serve as a parts source, and the restoration will involve community participation to preserve local history.
