flag Nightpond Ltd sues Ireland over canceled Dublin asylum centre contract, seeking €577K in damages.

Nightpond Ltd has sued the Irish State over the cancellation of a contract to operate an international protection centre at Cranford House in Dublin, claiming over €577,000 in renovation costs and a drop in property value. The company, which had agreed to house 41 people at €92.50 per day, was informed in June the project was no longer proceeding despite proposing mediation as required. The case, now in the fast-track Commercial Court, has been adjourned to February for mediation. This follows similar legal challenges over cancelled centres in Cherry Orchard and the Western Industrial Estate.
