Indian forces seized weapons in Jammu and Kashmir amid ongoing anti-terrorism operations.
On December 7, 2025, Jammu and Kashmir’s Special Operation Group recovered an SLR rifle, two magazines, and 22 live rounds in a forest operation in Doda district, based on intelligence and under SSP Sandeep Mehta’s supervision.
The operation aimed to prevent arms from falling into anti-national hands, with investigations ongoing into the weapons’ origin and those who concealed them.
This follows November raids in Shopian targeting individuals linked to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, proscribed under India’s UAPA since 2019 due to alleged separatist ties, with the ban extended for five years in 2024.
