China to launch online visas for Indians Dec. 22, part of revived ties after border tensions.
The Chinese Embassy in India will launch an online visa application system on December 22, 2025, allowing Indian applicants to submit forms and documents electronically.
This follows the full restoration of tourism and business visas for Chinese nationals, ending a five-year suspension after the 2020 border clashes.
India resumed issuing tourist visas in November 2025, building on a partial reopening in July, while business visas had been available since early 2025.
The move is part of broader confidence-building efforts, including the restart of direct commercial flights and the revival of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra pilgrimage, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
