The Washington Capitals placed forward Ryan Leonard and goaltender Charlie Lindgren on injured reserve on December 7, 2025, due to upper-body injuries.
Leonard, a 20-year-old rookie, sustained a facial injury from a hit by Anaheim’s Jacob Trouba and is expected to miss an extended period.
Lindgren, 31, was sidelined after a recent upper-body issue and must miss at least seven days.
The team recalled forwards Bogdan Trineyev and Kyler Kupka, and goaltender Clay Stevenson from their AHL affiliate, Hershey, to fill roster spots.
Stevenson, making his NHL return, has a 2.54 GAA and .913 save percentage in the AHL.
The Capitals face the Columbus Blue Jackets next.
