A Cambridgeshire woman, Joanne, has spoken out about six years of stalking that began in 2018 after meeting her stalker at her children’s school party. The man, initially introduced as “one of the dads,” joined her running group, then escalated to persistent messages, monitoring her on Strava, and sending disturbing communications, including a false claim about visiting her husband’s grave. Despite being blocked and seeking support, he continued contacting her through Christmas cards and social media. In 2024, his threats turned sexually violent, including plans to rape her at home. She reported the abuse, leading to a prison sentence of over two years and a 10-year restraining order. Joanne praised police for their support and urged others to report stalking early, emphasizing that help is available and no one should suffer in silence.
