A 19-year-old man faces manslaughter charges after accidentally shooting and killing a juvenile in a St. George apartment.
A 19-year-old man, Malachi Robles-Romo, has been charged with manslaughter and multiple other offenses after a juvenile male died in an accidental shooting at a St. George apartment on Friday evening.
Robles-Romo told police he accidentally fired a loaded Glock while removing its magazine, striking the victim.
Two other juveniles fled with the gun and later helped authorities recover it.
He admitted to using THC before the incident and demonstrated familiarity with the firearm, though he refused to identify the source.
Authorities found evidence the gun and possibly others in the home may be stolen.
Robles-Romo, who is being held at Pugatory Correctional Facility, faces charges including felony discharge of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and being a restricted person due to prior substance and firearm offenses.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community, and the investigation is ongoing.
