On December 7, 2025, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced 91 new investment MoUs worth ₹36,660 crore at the Tamil Nadu Rising Investors' Conclave in Madurai, expected to create around 56,766 jobs. The state has secured ₹11.38 lakh crore in investments since 2021, with major projects including a SIPCOT Industrial Park in Melur, a TIDEL NEO park in Madurai, and plans for a new airport in Ramanathapuram. The government also distributed house-site pattas to 63,698 families, inaugurated projects worth ₹3,650 crore, and launched the Madurai Master Plan 2044. Stalin emphasized regional development and criticized perceived central government biases in infrastructure funding.
