South Korea’s exports are on track to exceed $700 billion in 2025, fueled by record semiconductor shipments, which accounted for 28.3% of November’s total exports.
From January to November, overall exports reached $640.2 billion, a 2.9% rise year-on-year, the highest for that period.
However, non-semiconductor exports fell 1.5% to $487.6 billion, with declines in machinery, petroleum products, steel, petrochemicals, displays, and home appliances.
Growth was seen in automobiles, ships, and biohealth products, but officials warn of risks from overreliance on chips, despite sustained global demand driven by AI and data centers.
