Rupali Haque Chowdhury elected FICCI president for 2026–2027, succeeding Zaved Akhtar.
Rupali Haque Chowdhury, managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd, has been elected president of the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for 2026–2027, succeeding Zaved Akhtar of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd.
The announcement was made during FICCI’s 62nd Annual General Meeting on December 7, 2025, in Dhaka.
Deepal Abeywickrema of Nestlé Bangladesh PLC was named senior vice president, and Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC was elected vice president.
The new 15-member board will take office on January 1, 2026.
Chowdhury pledged to support economic transformation and improve the investment climate, while acknowledging her predecessor’s leadership during a period of economic and political transition.
FICCI, established in 1963, represents multinational firms from 35 countries across 21 sectors, contributing significantly to Bangladesh’s foreign direct investment and government revenue.
