Over 500,000 people gathered in Kolkata to recite the Bhagavad Gita, marking a major spiritual event.
On December 7, 2025, thousands gathered at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground for a large-scale Gita recitation event, dubbed ‘Panch Lakkho Konthe Gita Path,’ organized by spiritual leaders including Swami Gyananandaji Maharaj and Padma Shri awardee Kartik Maharaj.
Over 500,000 participants, including sadhus and devotees from across India, are expected to collectively recite one chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, with cultural performances and food distribution for travelers.
