Olmsted County and Rochester seek $2.5M in state grants for park upgrades, including accessible bridges and new recreation features.
Olmsted County and the City of Rochester have been recommended for $2.5 million in grants from Minnesota’s Parks and Trails Legacy Fund for park upgrades, pending state legislative approval.
Funds will support replacing pedestrian bridges at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo with ADA-compliant structures and upgrading Gamehaven Regional Park with a mountain biking skills area, jump park, improved snowmaking, and a tubing hill tow rope.
The Legacy Fund, funded by a 2008 sales tax, has awarded over $115 million since its creation, matched by nearly $42 million in local contributions.
