John Caleb Allen, 26, of Bristol, Florida, was convicted on ten federal charges, including two counts of attempted murder of federal officers, after opening fire on ATF agents during a June 23, 2025, raid on his home.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives had been investigating him for illegally selling machine gun conversion devices and firearms, including lying on an ATF Form 4473 during a purchase.
During the raid, Allen fired about 14 shots, striking an officer’s body armor and another’s sleeve, but no one was injured.
Agents recovered multiple firearms, including an unregistered silencer.
The case resulted from a joint investigation by the ATF, DEA, and Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, and is part of the Justice Department’s Operation Take Back America.
Sentencing is set for February 17, 2026.
