Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, India’s first astronaut to visit the International Space Station, urged youth to drive the nation’s progress toward Viksit Bharat 2047 by embracing artificial intelligence.
Speaking at the launch of the Delhi AI Grind Challenge, a six-month city-wide initiative, he highlighted AI’s role in accelerating data analysis during his space mission, where terabytes of research data were processed far faster than traditional methods.
Shukla emphasized AI’s potential to transform scientific research, earth observation, and astronaut support, calling on students and innovators to contribute to India’s technological self-reliance.
The program aims to engage over 500,000 students in problem-solving challenges blending technology, creativity, and empathy to build a knowledge-driven future.
