India has opened the world’s highest war memorial in Ladakh, near the Galwan Valley, honoring 20 soldiers who died in a 2020 clash with China.
Inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 7, 2025, the site at 14,500 feet features 20 bronze statues, an eternal flame, and a museum.
Built by the Border Roads Organisation, it is part of 125 infrastructure projects launched nationwide, including roads and bridges, aimed at strengthening border security and connectivity in remote, high-altitude regions.
